Despatches from United States consuls in Odessa, Russia, 1831-1906 (inclusive), [microform].

The records consist of thirteen volumes that are mainly despatches addressed to the Department of State by U.S. consular officials at Odessa between May 30, 1831, and August 14, 1906. Many despatches, particularly after 1886, report on the wool trade between Russia and the United States. Other subjects to which the despatches relate are the imprisonment of naturalized U.S. citizens of Russian origin; the Crimean War and the bombardment of Odessa; the riots in 1903 and 1905 following the Imperial Decree of May 23, 1903, on the legal status of Russian Jews; and the mutiny of the Black Sea fleet, 1905.
